DAM GOOD PLASTIC

“We all have to start somewhere to move towards a more sustainable future; going into a conversation is already a start, it’s the planting of a seed in someone’s head”

Matthijs Rikken, Founder and Creative Director of STUDIO DAM

What is STUDIO DAM and DAM GOOD PLASTIC? What do they do?
STUDIO DAM is a branding agency based in Singapore. Case by case they are trying to introduce their clients to the idea of potentially incorporating a sustainable angle to their brand and packaging design. Services include storytelling through branding and packaging design.

Since they are in a position to advise clients, they try to push businesses to think more about sustainability by providing various options if it comes to custom packaging design.

What makes STUDIO DAM unique is that they also evaluate brands’ genuine commitment to sustainability. Companies should have authentic stories that are easy to interpret through effective branding. Matthijs believes everyone, from individuals to corporations and governments, have a role to play in educating the general public regarding sustainability.

Through DAM GOOD PLASTIC, an initiative to inspire sustainability by upcycling plastic waste into small products, they hope to inspire SMEs and MNCs to practice corporate social responsibility. Although DAM GOOD PLASTIC is a small-scale initiative that is fully funded and powered by STUDIO DAM, they are eager to learn and improve themselves in any way possible.

Why is sustainability important to you personally?

Matthijs hopes to set a good example for his two children and DAM GOOD TEAM. This way we can hopefully be part of a world that moves towards a more sustainable future for the next generation’s to come!

Any last comments?

Matthijs believes education regarding sustainability has to improve and if that happens it will have a big impact on creating a greener future. Spreading awareness through word of mouth is more persuasive when you hear it from people that are closest to you.
