ANS.EIN - transforming art into wearable designs
“Every discarded piece is a seed of opportunity; our journey shows that when challenges are embraced, innovative, sustainable fashion blossoms.”
Brand Vision & Identity
ANS.EIN was born from a shared passion for art and fashion, co-founded by Anseina Eliza and her partner. The idea sparked when we saw the potential of wearable art—bringing Singapore’s local art scene beyond gallery walls and into everyday life. We believed fashion could be a canvas for storytelling, creativity, and sustainability. With a background in sustainability and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, we set out to create a brand that blends contemporary styles with timeless elegance.
Pivotal Moments
A defining moment in our sustainability journey at ANS.EIN was when we realized the sheer volume of fabric scraps accumulating over the years. Rather than seeing them as waste, we saw an opportunity—to breathe new life into these remnants through design. This shift in perspective sparked a creative transformation, leading us to craft innovative collections like Kintsugi, Origami, and Treashure, where discarded fabrics are reimagined into intricate, meaningful fashion pieces. It was a turning point that solidified our commitment to sustainability, proving that beauty can emerge from what is often overlooked.
Innovative Strategies
At ANS.EIN, we integrate sustainability into our designs by experimenting with diverse materials and techniques. We've transformed Singapore Airlines life vests into elegant fashion ruffles, repurposed grocery plastic bags into delicate floral embellishments, hand-interlocked fabric scraps into intricate origami-like couture pieces, and combined batik remnants to create stunning Kintsugi-inspired patterns. This journey has shown us that with creativity and innovation, sustainability isn't just a practice—it’s a limitless source of inspiration for innovative design.
Community Engagement:
We believe that sustainability is a collective effort. At ANS.EIN, we engage with our community through hands-on workshops, collaborations, and storytelling. We host upcycling and fashion sustainability workshops to inspire creativity while educating people on conscious consumption. Through partnerships with organizations like SGenable, we provide opportunities for different groups, including persons with disabilities, to take part in sustainable fashion-making.
Overcoming Challenges
Integrating sustainability into our business has come with its challenges, especially when experimenting with new techniques. Every innovation carries a risk—it takes countless rounds of trial and error before we achieve the final design. However, we see this as part of the creative journey. Each challenge pushes us to refine our craftsmanship, think outside the box, and stay true to our vision. By embracing perseverance and continuous learning, we’ve turned obstacles into opportunities for innovation, proving that sustainable fashion can be both groundbreaking and beautiful.
Future Trends & Vision
We are excited about the future of sustainable materials, especially innovative fabrics that minimize environmental impact. As designers, having access to eco-friendly materials allows us to push creative boundaries while staying true to our commitment to sustainability. We look forward to exploring new textiles, from biodegradable fabrics to regenerative alternatives, ensuring that fashion can be both expressive and responsible.
Inspiring Others
As entrepreneurs, we have a responsibility not just to grow our businesses, but also to care for our resources and minimize our impact on the planet. Sustainability should be an integral part of how we create, produce, and operate. Strive to be a responsible entrepreneur, both socially and environmentally, by making conscious choices that reduce waste and pollution. Small, consistent efforts can lead to meaningful change, proving that business success and sustainability can go hand in hand.
